Our guy Erik that has the diamond tables has informed me that his dad and and him plan on getting out of the rental business which means there will be no more diamonds in the future at our Titleholders. He may do the one in September and January but we are not sure at this time. The 4 plus hour trip and time is not worth it for them on a business stand point and I can see their point. So with that being said I made some phone calls and contacted Ken Kuhns in Carlisle. He has Valley tables with diamond rails and from what I hear they play excellent. They are slightly cheaper to rent which means we will have more money to roll over for 8 on the breaks and first break and runs per round. So we will be going with him in the near future and possibly in September. If anyone is going to bitch and cry then don't play in LH TAP or buy 16 diamonds at a cost of about $70,000 and I will rent them off of you. It is what it is.

i can appreciate that dragging those tables all the way from Ohio and back would get very costly. Especially with the way gas prices are going (thanks joe - Biggest Idiot Democrats Ever Nominated) What amenities need to be added to make Different Strokes a more desirable venue? Liquor license? Larger kitchen? Or keep the Grand Hotel (the best venue we have had in years) and rent the tables from Smitty?

I talked with Erik and due to the gas prices and distance (over 4 hours one way) he said he would continue to get us tables but the cost would be about $300 per table. I will adjust the payouts and freebies such as shirts and other things to make up the difference. I will have to sign a 2 year contract with them which I am fine with.

Heres and idea. Pay for decent tables. Hold a few 50 50 raffles to replenish the prize fund. Getting valleys that play like diamonds is absolute false. Heard it before. Then u get bad rolls and dead rails. That guys not the only one that rents diamonds. Hell get them in a day early and do what they did in vegas and have people pay $1 a game practice that goes toward the price. Theres options to help cover cost. But to go back to valleys after actually having a great location and tables wouldnt be smart. Can offer cues and 50 50 raffles throughout titleholders and the extra money go toward cost.

Having titleholders at different strokes wouldnt be a great idea. Alot of people rent rooms and having it at the hotel makes most sense. Having players risk getting DUIs or worse should take priority. I remember cops sitting at bedford just waiting for people
